NAD+ IV Drip

Author: Revivera Medical Team · Last updated: 15 October 2026

The NAD+ IV drip at Revivera Clinic is an intravenous therapy given after a free medical consultation and under the continuous supervision of a specialist doctor in intensive care (ATI) or emergency medicine. On this page you will find what NAD+ is, who the drip is suitable for, what the studies say, how long it takes and when it is not given.

NAD+ IV: what NAD+ is and why it is given intravenously

NAD+ (nicotinamide adenine dinucleotide) is an essential enzymatic cofactor present in every cell, with a key role in mitochondrial energy metabolism and in the processes that maintain cell integrity [1]. NAD+ levels fall naturally with age [2] and during prolonged stress, chronic fatigue or intense exertion.

Intravenous administration lets NAD+ reach the bloodstream directly, bypassing the digestive barrier and first-pass liver metabolism [4]. With a drip, the body receives the whole dose administered, depending on individual tolerance.

According to the specialist literature:

  • People with persistent fatigue, exhaustion or burnout
  • People interested in metabolic optimisation protocols [2]
  • People recovering after an illness or after periods of physical strain, as supportive adjuvant therapy

The final recommendation is made by the doctor at the consultation, based on your health and medical history.

Benefits of the NAD+ IV drip

  • Metabolic mechanism — works as an essential cofactor in the cell’s production of ATP in the mitochondria [1]
  • Central nervous system activity — NAD+ may reduce oxidative stress and neuroinflammation [3]
  • DNA integrity — takes part in DNA repair mechanisms and in mitochondrial function [1]
  • Senescence dynamics — NAD+ is one of the most studied molecules in regenerative medicine; a low level is one of the biological markers associated with cellular ageing [2]

Effects vary from person to person and depend on general health, lifestyle and the number of sessions. The NAD+ IV drip does not replace the medical treatment of diagnosed conditions.

What the studies say about NAD+

  • Its role in the body. NAD+ is a cofactor for enzymes involved in energy metabolism, DNA repair and the cell’s adaptation to stress. A prolonged imbalance in NAD+ metabolism is associated with metabolic disorders, neurodegeneration and ageing [1].
  • Ageing. The fall in NAD+ with age may contribute to ageing processes, and interventions that raise NAD+ levels are studied in regenerative medicine [2].
  • Central nervous system activity. In experimental models, NAD+ protected neuronal mitochondria and reduced oxidative stress and neuroinflammation [3].
  • Tolerability. Passing reactions (digestive discomfort, chest pressure, raised pulse) were linked to the administration; that is why the drip takes more than 90 minutes [5]. At Revivera, NAD+ is given slowly and under medical supervision, depending on the amount and on the patient’s tolerance.

How a session at Revivera works

  1. Free medical consultation — the doctor assesses your health, any test results and your goals, and decides whether the drip is suitable and in which protocol.
  2. Supervised administration — the drip is set up by medical staff and supervised throughout by a specialist doctor in intensive care (ATI) or emergency medicine, present in the clinic at all times.
  3. Comfort — the session takes place in massage chairs, in a quiet space. NAD+ is given slowly, over at least 90 minutes, depending on tolerance.
  4. Personalised recommendations — at the end you receive advice on how often to have sessions and on possible complementary therapies.

The NAD+ IV drip can be combined with other drips, on the doctor’s recommendation.

Contraindications and possible reactions

The NAD+ IV drip is not given during pregnancy and breastfeeding, in severe kidney or liver disease, in case of a known allergy to any component of the solution, or to patients with a history of cancer or in active cancer treatment. Tumour cells depend heavily on NAD+ to multiply [6] [7], which is why we avoid administration in these situations.

During the drip you may feel warmth, chest pressure, mild nausea or abdominal discomfort, especially if the infusion rate is too fast [5]. These pass and settle when the rate is slowed, which is why the drip is given slowly and under supervision.

Intravenous NAD+ therapy is an adjuvant medical procedure for metabolic support. The decision to administer it, the dosing and the number of sessions are set exclusively by the specialist doctor, following an individual medical consultation. Results may vary with each person’s biological response.

NAD+ drip or injection? NAD+ or glutathione?

A drip allows a larger dose to be given gradually, depending on tolerance and under medical supervision. Subcutaneous NAD+ injection is not authorised in Romania. At Revivera, NAD+ is given only as an intravenous drip, under medical supervision.

NAD+ acts on metabolic mechanisms and DNA integrity; glutathione is the body’s main antioxidant, with a role in detoxification and cell protection. They complement each other, but are given in separate drips. Find out more about the glutathione IV drip.

Frequently asked questions

How much does an NAD+ IV drip cost in Bucharest?

At Revivera Clinic, the Essentials NAD+ IV drip costs 300 lei and the Premium option 600 lei per session. The final price depends on the dose recommended by the doctor after the consultation. The medical consultation is free.

What does “injectable NAD” mean?

“Injectable NAD” is often used to mean NAD+ given intravenously. Subcutaneous NAD+ injection is not authorised in Romania; at Revivera, NAD+ is given only as an intravenous drip, under medical supervision.

How long does an NAD+ IV drip take?

At least 90 minutes. NAD+ is given slowly, for optimal tolerance.

How many sessions are needed?

The number of sessions is set after an individual medical consultation, based on your biological status and treatment goals.

When do you feel the effects?

Some patients notice more energy within the first 24–48 hours. The timing and strength of the effects depend on physical condition, metabolism and how low your NAD+ levels are.

Do you feel anything during the drip?

You may feel a passing warmth or chest pressure, which goes away when the infusion rate is slowed. That is why the drip is supervised at all times.

Do I need an appointment?

No. The clinic is open daily from 10:00 to 20:00, including weekends. We recommend booking to avoid waiting.

Is the NAD+ IV drip safe?

Given after a medical consultation and under supervision, it is well tolerated. At Revivera there is always a specialist doctor in the clinic, not just support staff.

Can I have the NAD+ drip if I have had cancer?

No. The NAD+ IV drip is not given to patients with a history of cancer or in active cancer treatment.

NAD+ drip or NMN / NR supplements?

Oral supplements contain NAD+ precursors (NMN, NR), which the body gradually converts into NAD+ [4]. The drip delivers NAD+ straight into the bloodstream, in a single session, under medical supervision. The doctor will recommend the right option for your goal at the consultation.

Can I combine NAD+ with other drips?

A personalised protocol can be created. NAD+ is given intravenously on its own, but can be complemented by adjuvant drips tailored to each patient.
